Dr. Gene McCutchen

Dr. Gene McCutchen is the coordinator of the Dance Program and Executive Director of the UT Dance Company. She teaches courses in dance history, dance pedagogy (teaching), and ballroom dance. Dr. McCutchen has extensive teaching experience in other areas of dance: modern dance, tap, folk and square dance, rythmic analysis, Laban-notation, and dance production. Dr. McCutchen studied at the Dance Notation Bureau in 1982, receiving an elementary/intermediate teaching certificate. Her research interest are in historical aspects of dance and methodology in the teaching of Creative Dance for Children.
