Dr. Rob Hardin

Rob teaches the graduate Media Issues and Sport class and the undergraduate Sport Communication class. He also teaches Event Management during the summer. Rob’s research interests lie within the role media play in the perception of sports and athletes. His dissertation analyzed the newspaper coverage of Bobby Jones during the 1920s. Rob also is interested in the way technology is being used to disseminate messages from collegiate athletic departments to the public. He is also involved in the men’s Sports Information Department at the university. Rob earned his bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. He earned both his master’s and doctoral degrees in communications from the University of Tennessee.
