Welcome to the University of Tennessee's Sailing Club. The sailing club is dedicated to teaching members how to sail, building racing experience, creating a fun social environment, and providing service to the Knoxville Community.

Recent News
4-21-10 Spring Racing Season Over
The Sailing Club's spring racing season ended last Saturday with the SAISA team race. We competed in 5 regattas this Spring: SAISA Open, North Points 2, North Points 3, SAISA Coed Championship, and SAISA Team Race.
We were able to use a lot of new talent this year in the hopes to build our racing core for the future. Thanks to all the racers that participated this year and to all the folks that came out and provided support and made the trips awesome.

4-21-10 Congratulations New Officers
The Sailing Club held officer elections for the positions of Commodore, Vice Commodore, Men's Race Team Captain, Secretary, Treasurer, Philanthropy/Fundraising Chair, Equipment Manager, and Historian.

4-2-10 Day at the Lake
We had amazing weather the Easter weekend, and we just had to utilize it. The Sailing Club had a day at the lake on Friday afternoon. We all hung out and had fun in the outdoor bubble bath, slip and slide, and painfully chilly water.
01-23-10 Martin Luther King Day of Service
The Sailing Club participated in the Martin Luther King Day of Service organized by Team Vols. We were one of the largest groups there, and we went to the Wesley House Community Center, a community center dedicated to underpriveliged children in the Lonsdale and Beaumont Communities off of Western Avenue. We spent the morning cleaning up their facilities and making them more useful and attractive for the children.

01-22-10 The America's Cup
For those of you interested in the America's Cup, it looks like comcast will be covering the event. I contacted them, and they said they are covering it they just don't know what PPV channel it will be on yet.

01-22-10 Spring Interest Meeting
We had our Spring Interest Meeting last night. Thanks to all of you that came out to learn about our club. We talked about our learn to sail program, racing, our spring break trip to Key West, and our upcoming events.
We also showed a really great video that Ervin Grove made for the High School Sailing program that UT racers run for the Knoxville area high schools.
