The Concord Yacht Club Auxiliary Fleet invites all the members of DIYRA to join us for the annual Rocky Top Regatta for auxiliary sailboats on Ft. Loudoun Lake Friday evening, April 25, through Sunday, April 27. We welcome everyone who has an interest in racing and having a good time.

The race registration fee is $35 per boat and includes one commemorative regatta long-sleeve T-shirt and one Saturday night dinner. Please register by completing an online registration form or hard-copy PDF form (both forms are linked below) and mailing it to Regatta Registrar R.G. Smithson at the address listed on the form.

Standard Portsmouth handicapping, which is a time-on-time system, will be used to score the regatta with placings by low-point scoring. In order to have an adequate reflection of each boat’s handicap, the Race Committee will attempt to set a course that will take at least one hour for the first boat to finish in each race. Prizes will be awarded to the top five finishers.

Regatta check-in is from 9 until 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26. Skippers will meet at the clubhouse at 10 a.m. with the warning for the first race at 11 a.m. No races will be started after 4 p.m. Saturday.

Racing resumes at 9 a.m. Sunday with no races to begin after 2 p.m. No skippers meeting Sunday. Awards to be presented at the clubhouse as soon as possible after Sunday's racing.

The Race Committee will attempt as many races (within the time limits) as conditions allow.

Temporary dockage is available. Questions regarding dockage should be referred to Sandra Ford Johnson by e-mail at sandrafj@comcast.net. Sandra will need the length, beam and draft of your boat, as well as anticipated arrival date/time.

Everyone is encouraged to come out Friday evening, April 25, for a pre-regatta warm-up party at the Concord Yacht Club beginning at 6 p.m. Beverages and snacks provided by the CYC Auxiliary Fleet.

All participants are invited to a Saturday dinner beginning at 7 p.m. (after the first day’s racing) catered by Season’s Café. The dinner menu is chicken picatta, herb rice, salad, rolls, and cookies. The price for additional adult dinners (beyond the one included with registration) is $18 each pre-registered. A limited number of dinners may be available for $20 at sign-in Saturday morning, April 26. But please, if at all possible, register for meals in advance using one of the forms linked below. Pizza for Children under 10 is $5. Drinks will be provided.
