Review for Final exam

The final exam will have a question from each of the last two lectures and also repeat (with numbers changed) questions from the first two tests.

From Lecture 10, you need to be able to:

  • Explain the general idea of integral transport theory.
  • Define the terms in the integral form of the transport equation..
  • Work a problem like 10-2, given tables of E3(tau).

Lecture 11 was skipped this year.

From Lecture 12, you need to be able to:

  • Describe the basic approach of explicit, implicit, and quasi-static methods.
  • Derive the point kinetics equation from the static and time-dependent BEs.
  • Derive diffusion theory from the static 1D slab BE.

The test will consists of one question from each of these two lectures plus several repeat questions from the previous tests.
