| During the summer after your sophomore year, you will attend Field Training at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. Field Training is a rigorous 4-week (see note below) "boot camp" where you will be receive weapons training, survival training, combatives, aircraft indoctrination, and physical conditioning. You will also hone your followership, teamwork, and most importantly...your leadership skills. The program is designed to evaluate military leadership and discipline, and determine your potential for entry into the Professional Officer Course (final two years of the AFROTC program). Successful completion of Field Training is mandatory for completing the AFROTC program and obtaining a commission in the Air Force. |
|
Note: If you complete both AFAS 100 and 200 classes, you will attend the 4-week Field Training camp. Cadets who start the program in their junior year will attend a 5-week Field Training camp to learn all the academic information covered during the first 2-years of the program. |
