We took the ferry to Liberty Island from Battery Park and Castle Clinton National Monument at the southern tip of Manhattan.
I took this photo of the World Trade Center's twin towers from the ferry as we left Battery Park. If I had only know that they wouldn't be standing in less than two years, I would have gone to the observation deck to take in what must have been an impressive view.
