bryce canyon national park, page one
During the summer of 2001, Rachelle and I took a vacation to visit National Parks and Monuments in Utah and Arizona. We flew into Las Vegas and then drove to Cedar City, Utah. The next morning we drove to Bryce Canyon National Park. The pictures below were taken during our drive to the park.
This picture and the next two were taken at a pull-over along the way. They are all indicative of the amazing views that we were able to see.
None of these pictures can do justice to the incredible landscape that stretched out before us.
This picture is looking southwards in the general direction of Zion National Park.
Later on the drive, we passed a cinder cone and lava flow. We thought about walking out to it, but decided we did not want to spend the time it would take us to get to it and walk back.
The cinder cone is the mound on the left side of the picture and the lava flow extends from the cone to the right side of the photo.
And here I am resting on a bench at Bryce, when we finally arrived.
