arches national park, page two
During the summer of 2001, Rachelle and I took a vacation to visit National Parks and Monuments in Utah and Arizona. After we visited Zion National Park, we drove to Moab, UT and the next day we visited Arches National Park.
Arches National Park contains the greatest concentration of natural arches in the world, numbering more than 2000 in total. We only had one day to spend at the park, so we could only see a small fraction of these arches. We concentrated on some of the most famous ones. The landscape at Arches is composed of an array of arches, balanced rocks, pinnacles, spires and slick rock domes formed primarily from red sandstone.
