1. What/where/when is the Symposium?
This is the 4th Annual Veterinary Student Exotic Animal Symposium, previously known as the "Show Me" Exotics Symposium. For the first three years, the Symposium was held at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. For its 4th year, the Symposium will be held at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, TN. In subsequent years, the Symposium will alternate locations between Missouri and Tennessee. The Symposium is being held from January 14, 2006 through January 15, 2006.
2. What is the cost of the registration fee?
The cost for students is $60; for veterinarians $165; for veterinarians (Saturday only) $120; for technicians $85. There is an additional $20 fee if you register after December 1, 2005. UTCVM students will receive a $10 refund on their registration fee.
3. What does my registration fee include?
Your registration includes all lectures, breakfast & lunch both days, a proceedings CD, and a conference T-shirt. Wetlabs are available for an additional charge.
4. What do I do if I have a problem submitting my payment through PayPal?
You have two options if you are unable to complete the online payment through PayPal. If you have a PayPal account (or if you don't mind signing up for a free account), you can go to the PayPal home page (http://www.paypal.com) and log in to your account. Next, click on the "Send Money" tab. Send the correct payment amount to the following e-mail address: exoticsymposium@mail.ag.utk.edu.
Your second option is to send a check (no cash or money orders) for the correct amount of your registration (including wetlabs) to the following address:

5. What do I do if I have problems submitting my registration online?
If you are unable to complete any part of the online registration (i.e. you cannot submit the registration form), you may try again at a later time, or you can click the following link for a printable registration form that you can print out and mail in: Registration Form.
6. Where can I stay while I'm at the Symposium?
Please see our Hotel Information page for lodging information. The Crowne Plaza in downtown Knoxville will hold a block of rooms for Symposium attendees at a special rate, but there are plenty of other options in the area.
7. I'm a UTCVM student but I didn't get my discount, what's the deal?
The $10 UTCVM student discount is more of a refund than a discount. We were unable to set up the registration and payment sites to include the discount, so you have to pay the full registration fee and the $10 will be refunded to you as soon as possible after you register.
8. How many CE credit hours are available for veterinarians and veterinary technicians?
Continuing Education credit is available to veterinarians and veterinary technicians at a 1:1 ratio - for every 1 hour of lecture or wetlab attendance, 1 hour of CE credit will be earned. If you have more specific questions about CE, please contact us at exoticsymposium@mail.ag.utk.edu.
