Faculty Updates
- Professor Rosalind I. J. Hackett became Interim Head on August 1, 2009, succeeding Professor Gilya Schmidt who stepped down after seven years of dedicated service to the department.
- Professor Mark Hulsether will serve as the new Associate Head as Associate Professor Johanna Stiebert will be leaving us to take up an appointment in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Leeds, in the UK.
- We have seven temporary colleagues in the department this year: Igal Bursztyn, our Schusterman Visiting Israel Professor, Marco Di Giulio, our Modern Hebrew Teaching Fellow. Both are privately funded positions. We will also have Ayman Shabana teaching Islam, Todd Krulak teaching Early Christianity, and Lubija Jovanovic teaching Hebrew Bible.
- Professors Charles Reynolds and Rosalind Gwynne have retired after many, many years of exemplary service to the department, the university, and the wider community. We shall miss them very much and wish them well for their well earned retirement.
