What is a Personal Security Code (PSC)?
Your Personal Security Code used in combination with your student ID allows you to register, order transcripts and get your grades.  Because it allows access to all of these systems, only you have access to it. PSCs are sometimes called "PINs".  

Do You Have A Personal Security Code (PSC)?
Any student who has attended UT (Knoxville) Fall 1988 Semester or later has a PSC on the student record system.  It is not possible to assign a PSC if you do not already have one.

If you are trying to get a transcript in a hurry through our Transcript Express service, you can do that without a PSC.  Order your transcript by telephone (1-800-613-2594) and choose option "2".   You will be given instructions for faxing your request.  Faxed orders must include credit card information.  For more information about requesting a transcript, click here.

How to Get Your Personal Security Code:
There are several ways to obtain your PSC:

At New Student Orientation.   When you attend orientation sessions prior to their first attendance at UT (Knoxville) you will be provided their PSCs.

In Person.  To receive your PSC in person, you must present a photo ID.  PSCs can be obtained in  the University Registrar's Information Center, 209 Student Services Building. ( The Student Services Building is located at Circle Park.  Come down one floor from the Circle Park level.) 

By Fax or U.S. Mail.  If possible, print a copy of our PSC Request Form and complete it.   Requests for PSCs must include a copy of a photo ID that bears your signature.  The request must also be signed.  The PSC will be distributed only if the two signatures match.

By Telephone. You may call (865) 974-2101 to receive your PSC.

By Email. Request your PSC by email registrar@utk.edu.

How to Change Your Personal Security Code:
To change your Personal Security Code, go to Circle Park Online (http://cpo.utk.edu), sign on and choose "PSC (PIN) Change and follow instructions".
