FedEx replaces UPS as State Contract vendor for Express Mail Service
FedEx Corporation has been awarded the new statewide contract (SWC #380 - #4037574) effective January 1, 2009. The following are some basic instructions to get started using the contract:
iMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL FedEx USERS: A number of departments have continued to use an old FedEx account number 1263-7450-0. This number, which was assigned in 1986 as a "catchall", has been cancelled. Numerous billing problems stemmed from continued use of this account number. Each department must establish and use their own account number. To establish a new FedEx account number, please call 800-645-9424. Failure to use the proper account number will result in your department not being billed at the reduced state contract rate.
If your department already has a FedEx account number, contact Shane McAbee at email address: shane.mcabee@fedex.com. He will verify the account number is linked to the SWC pricing.
The following information should be provided when setting up all new accounts: Department Name, Address, City, State, Zip, Contact Name, Phone Number and email address.
If your agency needs FedEx account numbers, contact FedEx Government Account Services by phone at 1-800-645-9424 or email at govt@fedex.com
