Staff Parking Fees
A. All parking fees are payable annually in advance or by monthly payroll deduction for regular employees. Monthly payroll deduction for assignments made in August will begin in September. For assignment made after August the charge will be reduced on a per month basis and payroll deductions will begin the following month. To stop payroll deduction, employee MUST RETURN PARKING PERMIT to the Parking Services Department and complete a Staff Payroll Parking Change form.
B. Area parking at $25.30 per month provides parking on a first-come basis in assigned nonreserved staff areas except during special events.
C. Reserved area parking at $99.00 per month provides a reserved space in staff reserved areas at any time.
D. During special events a lot will be reserved for those staff members who must work and whose normal assigned space or area is required for the special event parking.
E. Staff parking areas are designated by number as shown on the parking map. Staff may park only in the area which corresponds to their parking permit.
F. No refunds or adjustments will be made for temporary absences from the campus for periods of less than a complete semester. Applications for refunds for absences of one semester or greater must be made to the Parking Services Department in advance of the expected absence and by notification upon return from such absence. The payroll deduction will be continued during this period of temporary absence and a refund authorized upon the employee's return.
G. Upon termination of an employee, the deduction for the month in which termination occurs will be the final deduction and no adjustment will be made for fractional portions of a month. PARKING PERMIT MUST BE PRESENTED TO THE PARKING SERVICES DEPARTMENT AT TERMINATION.
H. Staff not working during the Summer Term, may surrender their parking permits at the end of the Spring Semester; however, this may result in loss of current parking assignment.
I. For staff terminating at the end of the Fall Semester, final payroll deduction will be for the month of December; for those terminating at the end of the Spring Semester, final payroll deduction will be for the month of May; and for those terminating at the end of the Summer Term, final payroll deduction will be for the month of August. Departing staff members are responsible for notifying the Parking Services Department of departure date and for termination of payroll deductions.
J.Specific EXPIRATION DATES are indicated on each parking permit.
Student Parking Fees
A. Parking lots for students will be designed by letter as shown on the parking map. Student vehicles may be parked only in lots which correspond to their parking permit as follows:
- Non-Commuter (N or NW) $241.00 (August-May). May also park in G-7 and CN Lots located on Agricultural Campus. Non-Commuter Permits are not to be sold to Commuters.
- Motorcycle Non-Commuter (R) $64.00 (Annually).
- Motorcycle Commuter (M) $51.00 (Annually).
- Fraternity (F or FW) (Annually).
- Commuter (C or CW) $155.00 (August-May). May also park in CN Lots located on Agricultural Campus. Commuter parking permits are not to be sold to Non-Commuters.
- Evening (T or TW) $31.80 (August-May) valid in commuter lots after 3:00 p.m. and unreserved staff lots after 4:00 p.m.
B. A Summer Term Parking Fee will be charged as follows:
- Non-Commuter (NS or NSW) $82.00 (June-August).
- Commuter (CS or CSW) $52.00 (June-August).
- Second session of Summer Term will be on half (1/2) of the foregoing prices.
C. Students residing on University Campus in Residence Halls and Fraternity Houses will be considered Non-Commuters. All others are Commuters.
D. Students living in University Apartments not located on the Main Campuses will be required to obtain a commuter parking permit if they desire to park on the University Campus.
E. Any student who purchases a parking permit in August and leaves school during the school year prior to the beginning of the Spring Semester, may obtain a refund for the Spring Semester. Such request must be made no later than 15 days after the end of the Fall Semester. A student purchasing a Summer Term permit but only using it for the first session may obtain a refund of one-half (1/2) the Summer Term rate. The refund must be made within 5 days from the first day of class for the second half of summer term. PERMIT MUST BE PRESENTED TO OBTAIN REFUND.
F. EVENING PERMITS: Students who park in University lots during evening hours must purchase an evening permit. Permit is valid in commuter lots after 3:00 PM and unreserved staff lots after 4:00 PM. Cost is $31.80 (August-May). Summer Term permit may be purchased for $10.50 (June-August). Those with Evening permits desiring to park before 3:00 PM must purchase Temporary permits at a cost of $5.00 per day.
G. Specific EXPIRATION DATES are indicated on each parking permit.
Special Parking Permits
A. TRANSFERABLE RED DOTS:
- Permits parking in unreserved staff areas only and must be accompanied by current parking permit. For departmental use only. Circle Park is not an unreserved Staff area.
- Red Dots are designed to help departments conduct departmental business and should only be used for short periods to access alternate locations. Red Dots may not be used on a regular basis to alter allocated parking assignments.
- Issued on letter or request and justification from appropriate Chief Administrative Officer of each major division.
B. SPECIAL PERMIT
- Allows parking in another unreserved area on campus (distance of 1/2 mile or greater) for those persons whose duties require movement, issued on letter of request and justification from appropriated Chief Administrative Officer of each major division.
C. TEMPORARY PERMITS
- Temporary staff desiring to park on campus must purchase a permit for $5.00 per day or $25.30 per month and may choose the lesser rate. Authorization letter required.
- Temporary parking for student areas may be purchased at rate of $5.00 per day when space is available.
- Staff and students who have purchased a transferable parking permit but forget to place it in the vehicle they are driving to campus, may obtain a one day replacement permit at no charge.
D. SALES AND SERVICE PERMITS
- Parking permits for Sales and Service Representatives are available from the Parking Services Department at a cost of $140.00 (Annually) or $5.00 per day and permits parking in all unreserved staff areas while on University business ONLY.
Garage Parking
A. McClung Garage (G-1 & G-2) for Staff Only.
- Unreserved parking 5 1/2 days per week at $46.30 per month.
- A $15.00 charge will be assessed for a lost or mutilated gate control card.
B. Andy Holt Tower Garage (G3, G4 and G5)
- All of the bottom level (G3) is Unreserved Staff Parking, (Staff Area 30).
- All of the middle level (G-4) is Student Commuter Parking.
- The top level G-5 has some reserved spaces adjacent to Andy Holt Tower. A section West of the Tower is Unreserved Staff Parking (Staff Area 30). Some of the spaces at the extreme West side of G-5 are Student Commuter Parking.
C. University Center Garage (G-6)
- Available on an hourly basis at the required gate fee of $1.00 the first half hour and $1.00 for each additional half-hour.
- Arrangements for Conference Parking can be made in advance with the Parking Services Department (974-6031). Conference rate is $5.00 per vehicle.
- Garage is open from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Schedule may change due to special events, conferences, etc.
- Overnight parking will not be allowed.
- There is a $10.60 charge for lost gate ticket.
D. Holt Avenue Parking Garage (G7) parking by permit as designated by posted signs.
E. Neyland Drive Garage (G-10) parking by permit as designated by posted signs.
F. Locust Street Garage parking by special arrangement by permit as designated by posted signs.
- Staff Parking at $46.30 per month is limited and provides parking on a first-come basis except during special events.

Visitors
A. Definition: Persons not connected with the University who occasionally have business or other reasons to be on campus.
B. Visitor parking is available in the University Center parking garage at the published rates and also at parking meters located on City of Knoxville Streets.
C. All parking in University lots is by permit only. Maps of campus and Visitor parking permits are available at University Center, Room 24 or 2121 Stephenson Drive or at the Information Center at the entrance to Circle Park.
D. Visitor permits are available at the daily rate or appropriate fee for duration of visit.
E. Visitors are required to secure and display a valid parking permit when parking in University lots.
F. University Departments that invite visitors to campus should contact Parking Services to arrange visitor parking. Requests for special guest parking should be submitted to Parking Services as far in advance as possible. Special event parking requests should be submitted at least seven (7) days in advance in order to coordinate the numerous parking requests received.
