My general interests lie in understanding the evolution of genomic patterns and processes using mechanistic models. Currently, my research focusses on understanding the evolution of codon usage bias. I use models of protein translation layered within explicit population genetics models to understand the co-evolutionary dynamics between tRNA abundances, translation errors and codon usage bias.
