The Progressive Student Alliance was founded in January of 1997.
Selected accomplishments (more to come):

may 2005 VICTORY!!! :: working in solidarity with UCW-CWA, PSA is able to help win a significant pay raise for the lowest-paid UT workers. Although it is not a complete victory, it is a significant partial victory. And we continued to help change the way the debate on raises is framed. This is the second year in a row we have a achieved this type of victory in Nashville.
april 4, 2005 UT workers speak out :: Over 100 workers show up to show support for the 2005 Fair Raise Campaign, and to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was assassinated April 1968 while supporting a strike of Tenessee public sector workers
march 19, 2005 we STILL say no to war :: PSA turns out for the historic anti-war mobilization in Fayetteville NC, home of Ft. Bragg. the march was led by veterans and military families. PSA chairperson Ruba Nuwayhid addressed a crowd of 1000s at the post-march rally.

summer-fall 2003 where's the fairness? :: While ex-UT President John Shumaker (the man with 26 phones!) gets a phat severance package, UT fires UT Steamplant Employee Carl Singleton for missing 8 hours of work, for which he had a doctor's excuse. If workers don't have a union to stand up for their rights, who will?
