General Approach |
Students will visit a web site that provides
information on different careers. Using the information, students
will create business cards to share with the class. |
Activity Steps |
-
The counselor will explain that there are a variety
of careers available. Then describe the six "clusters" in which careers
are divided. (Arts and Humanities, Business and Information Systems,
Engineering and Technology, Health Services, Human and Public Services,
and Natural and Agricultural Sciences).
-
The students will be given the web site http://www.nycareerzone.org
to explore, 3 index cards, and markers.
-
The students will then search the different careers
by clicking on the graphics site, and then on the different career clusters.
-
Have students choose three careers that interest
them.
-
After researching the careers, students will design
three business cards.
-
The business cards should include name, job title,
and motto.
-
After the students have finished their business
cards, we will gather in the circle and trade cards.
