General Approach |
This activity will guide students through writing business letters to prospective employers. The students will also write their own resume'. |
Activity Steps |
1. Review the parts of a business letter.
2. Have students draft one letter each of the following a. Cover letter for a resume’3. The students will also create a resume’ based on their own experiences and education. They will be required as a homework assignment to find the names, addresses and phone numbers of three people who could be their references. 4. On the second day, the students will type
on a word processor their résumés and their four letters.

This activity will take 2- 60 minute session including a homework assignment on the first night. |
Resources Needed |
Access to a word processor.
Copies of acceptable résumé's Copies of acceptable business letters and résumés |
Performance Indicators |
The students will be graded based on their proper form of the business letter as well as the type of letter they are writing. |
