General Approach |
Students will be asked to write out their weekly schedule. They will then be given time to log onto the internet, research extracurricular activities in their town, and find one of interest that relates to an area of their study and will fit into their schedule. This will help raise student awareness of activities in the community. |
Activity Steps |
1. Students will be given fifteen minutes
to write out their weekly schedule.
2. Once they are finished, they should move to computer stations. 3. The students should log onto the internet and go to a search engine 4. The students should be given thirty minutes to find an activity in their town that is of interest and will fit into their schedule. 5. When the students locate the activity, they should write it down. 6. Lead the class in a discussion about the types of activities chosen, any difficulties in locating activities, and any other positives or negatives they encountered in the activity. 7. If any students have difficulty finding time in their schedule for extra activities, you may offer to meet at a later time to do further planning. |
