This activity will help students acquire competencies which relate to the following standards:
4.  Career Awareness and Employment Readiness Skills
5.  Career Information and Career Goals
The student will:
4.2  Access, interpret, and evaluate career information using technology and other resources.
4.3  Make decisions, set goals, and develop plans for the future.
5.3  Apply technology and other research skills to locate information about job and post-secondary education.
5.5  Assess and modify educational plans to support career goals.

General Approach
The general approach is that students will compare statistics and features of several selected community colleges, colleges, and universities.  Students will then take a virtual tour of post-secondary institutes that are of interest to them.

Activity Steps
1.  Explain to students that this activity will help them compare various post-secondary institutions.
2.  Direct students to the college comparison worksheet .
3.  Instruct students to enter four colleges or universities of interest to them.
4.  Instruct students to print the college comparison worksheet once it comes to the screen.
5.  Have students print and complete a college analysis worksheet .
6.  Once students analyze the institutions, direct them to take at least one virtual tour .

Time Required

This activity may require 30-45 minutes to complete.
