General Approach |
Students will work together in teams cutting and gluing pictures of people they deem to be in various employment positions. This will be followed by a counselor led discussion. |
Activity Steps |
1. Explain that students will work in teams of 4 to 5 cutting out
pictures of people that are in various work uniforms or appear to be in
a specific job.
2. Give each student a set of scissors and various magazines and newspapers. 3. Have the students glue the pictures that they have cut out onto a large piece of poster board. 4. Gather children in a circle and lead them through a discussion about the pictures they have found and what type of work the people appear to be doing. |
Time Required |
This activity will require at least 20 minutes for the children to complete the hands-on portion of the activity. Another 20 minutes may be required to discuss the activity after the poster boards are completed. |
Resources Needed |
1. 4-5 poster boards
2. blunt scissors and glue 3. various magazines and newspapers |
