The general approach is that students will learn more about the military with regard to education and career options. |
|
|
Step 1: An option would be to have a recruiter give a brief lecture and have the students take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). Recruiters will generally test the students for free. When the results are received, the counselor could go into the classroom and begin with the next step. If this is not an option, the students could click here to review " Ace the ASVAB " (also listed under the topic area). (***I would not recommend the students to take the ASVAB on the web site as it asks for personal information, which may lead to a recruiter contacting the students.) Step 2:
Step 3: Once
the students have completed the worksheet, gather them into a large group and
discuss what they have discovered. · Did anyone find that the military was right for them? · Why or why not? · Were their any characteristics about the military that may or may not have affected their choices? · What kinds of careers can be obtained? · What benefits are available? · What kind of commitment is associated with the military with regard to educational supplements? |
