General Approach |
The general approach is that children will get into groups and play a game of memory with careers taking the place of names. |
Activity steps |
1. Create memory cards with images of
people and careers.
2. Have the students sit down in an open area of the classroom 3. Divide the students into groups of 3-5. 4. Lay the memory cards face down in front of all the students. 5. Before beginning the game, ask each student if they have thought about what they want to be when the grow up, and why. 6. Begin the game. 7. Objective is to flip over one card, and then flip over another card trying to find the matching one. 8. Once a match is made, ask the group to tell you one thin that a person in that career does. 9. Ask the student if that career is one that they would like, or if they know anyone in that career. 10. Once all matches have been made, the game is over. |
