General Approach


 
 

Students will work in teams to form small businesses.  Each team will interact with a WWW site that will provide instructions on how to proceed.
 

Activity Steps

  • Review the teacher version of the activity before beginning work with students.
  • Explain that students will works in teams of 2 - 4 to form small businesses.  All teams will be selling lemonade.
  • Distribute the Learning With Lemons  activity  worksheet.
  • Ask each team to select a name for their business and complete Step 1 on the worksheet.
  • Ask each student to write down the following rules for operating their businesses:
    • You will sell lemonade for 30 days.
    • You will be given  $3 to start your business.
    • Each day you will be given a weather forecast.  Use this forecast to help make your business decisions.
    • Each day you must make business decisions.  You will need to decide how many glasses of lemonade to make for the next day, how much you will charge per glass, and how much you will spend on advertising.
