General Approach
The students will explore various websites to learn more about themselves and their interests in relation to careers.

Activity Steps
1. Have each student to click on          www.Mapping-your-future.org/features/careership .
2. Allow the students ten to fifteen minutes to explore this website (it is self-directed) to learn more about their interests in relation to careers.
3. To find additional information about interests, have students complete The Career Key @ http://www.ncsu.edu/careerkey .
4. For additional information on specific careers, students may click on http://www.nycareerzone.org/index.jsp.   (Never rely on just one source of information, and encourage students to refer to various sites while exploring careers.)
5. For students interested in earning extra money now, guide them to www.kids.gov/k_careers.htm , and click on New Directions:  Kid's Career Information.  From there, click on Career Directory for Students located at the top right of the screen.
After each student has explored these Websites, ask each to share with the class the following:
1. Which career(s) interested you and why?
2. Are there educational or specific skills required for this career?
3. Did the Career Key accurately match your interests to their chosen careers for you?
