 This activity will help students acquire competencies which relate to the following standards:

General Approach		 The general approach to this lesson is that children will participate in a variety of activities involving the senses which will be followed by an evaluation activity.

Activity Steps		 Begin by telling students they will be learning the same thing but through several different ways.  You may pick the concept according to the specific grade such as steps to listening, asking directions, etc.
 
  • Teach the students a dance about the studied concept.  Use music after the students know the moves.  Tell the students this is one way we can learn, by using our body movement and listening to music.
  • Write the steps on the board.  Allow students to either copy the steps or read them.  Allow students to also draw a picture.  Tell the students this is one way we can learn, by using our eyes to remember things.
  • Ask students to place their heads on their desks.  Recite the steps of the concept to the students.  Tell the students this is another way we can learn is to listen.
Lead students in a discussion regarding which ways they personally liked.  Discuss applications with learning and school.  Compose a chart on the board with the three activities, tally the number of people who like which way of learning.

Time Needed		 This activity will require 30 minutes.
