The
adidas Partners in Sports Scholarships are designed to recognize
outstanding performance by major students in the sport management
program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
The deadline to apply
for the 2007-2008 scholarships is April 2nd. Applications should be submitted directly to Jim Bemiller
in HPER 333.

All undergraduate and
graduate level sport management students are eligible to apply for
the Partners in Sports Scholarships. Undergraduate students are
eligible if they have successfully completed 60 hours of undergraduate
coursework, have been admitted into the sport management program
and are a current Student Partner of Partners in Sports. Graduate
students are eligible if they have been admitted into the graduate
program, are in good standing with the Graduate School and the sport
management program and are a current Student Partner of Partners
in Sports. |

| Academic
Performance (20%) |
| The academic performance
accounts for 20% of the overall selection criteria. The selection
committee will review each student's complete college transcript with
a particular emphasis on academic performance within the major. |
|
| Related
Experience (40%) |
| Related experience
accounts for 40% of the overall selection criteria. Each student applying
for a Partners in Sports Scholarship is required to submit a cover
letter and resume. The cover letter will explain the student's reasons
for the scholarship application. Related experience refers to any
job, internship, practicum or volunteer work completed in the area
of sport management. |

| Professional
Potential (40%) |
| Professional potential
of each student accounts for 40% of the overall selection criteria.
Each student applying for a Partners in Sports scholarship is required
to submit three letters of reference from work supervisors, college
professors, etc. All letters should be sent directly to Jim Bemiller.
A Faculty Rating committee consisting of sport management professors
will review the Professional Potential materials submitted by each
applicant. |

The deadline
for all Partners in Sports Scholarship applications is April 2 at noon. Winners of the Partners in Sports Scholarships and
Buck Jones Award will be presented awards and recognized during
Partners' Spring Reception, which is usually held near the end of
April in Neyland Stadium's Wolf-Kaplan Hospitality Center. Partners
in Sports will announce the date and time of the 2007-2008 Spring
Reception as soon as it becomes available. All applications must
include a letter of application (cover letter), current resume and
three letters of reference, and should be submitted directly to:
