June 25, 2008 -- The Fifth Annual Regal Entertainment Group Partners in Sports Scholarship Golf Tournament was a huge success on Monday. Over 150 supporters participated in the tournament that was held at Gettysvue Polo, Golf and Country Club on Monday June 23rd. The annual golf tournament is an opportunity for students to gain valuable event management and planning experience while also raising money that allows Partners in Sports to give out annual scholarships and help students gain valuable sport management experience in many different ways throughout the year.

As the morning players arrived they were treated to breakfast provided by Chick-Fil-A and had the opportunity to bid on an array of Tennessee collector’s items, sports memorabilia, golf equipment, and weekend getaways in the silent auction. The morning session of the event teed off at 8:30a.m. with 18 teams vying for the low score in the four person team scramble.

As the morning golfers were closing out their rounds, participants from the afternoon foursomes moved in and began enjoying the lunch provided by Carrabba's Italian Grill and tried their luck on the silent auction items.

Each golfer received a gift bag containing an adidas Partners in Sports golf shirt, a Tennessee hat provided by TaylorMade, a personal one gallon Gatorade cooler, and various other items provided by tournament sponsors.

Partners in Sports would like to extend a special thanks to Title Sponsors Regal Entertainment Group and Pilot Travel Centers, Course Sponsor Orange Nation, Cart Sponsors The Wakefield Corporation, and Gettysvue Polo, Golf and Country Club Head Professional Mike Robinson.

A big word of thanks also goes to State Farm, Bridgestone Golf.
