LIVE! Leadershops

Leadership, Inspiration, Values, Excellence! The LIVE! Leadershops provide an opportunity for students to learn more about various aspects of personal leadership development and how to be a successful leader. The free workshops are presented by Leadership Guides and are open to all students with no registration needed!

True Colors: Roommate Edition - Thursday, August 20, 6:00-7:00 p.m. UC Room 223-224
This Leadershop is designed to teach students about their individual leadership style, as well as to help roommates understand their commonalities and differences. Students will engage in strategic activities and excercises to uncover the real leaders within.

The Neyland Effect: Communication - Wednesday, September 16, 6:00-7:00 p.m. Humes Multipurpose Room
Students will interact with each other to develop new skills for effective communication and conflict resolution. This Leadershop will encourage participants to understand and value the need for clear and practical communication on a college campus, while providing them with ways to put their skills into practice.

Leading as a Student - Tuesday, October 6, 6:00-7:00 p.m. The Black Cultural Center
This Leadershop will demonstrate successful strategies for time management and stress reduction. Leaders will discover how to implement study skills and effective prioritizing tactics while learning how to creatively combat the physical and mental pressure of academic responsibility. Student leaders will understand the importance of balancing leadership with academics to create an environment for overall success.

How to be a seasoned leader - Wednesday, November 18, 6:00-7:00 p.m. Humes Multipurpose Room
This Leadershop is designed to use the DISC assessment tool to allow students to determine their unique leadership profile. Students will then use this information to uncover specific ways to utilize their strengths and potential on campus.
