My most memorable experience so far was my first UT football game as a college student. I’d been coming to Neyland Stadium since I was four – but I’d never experienced anything as exciting and energetic as sitting in the student section. We won that game 35-14, and it is truly a memory that I will cherish forever. The lights, the spirit, and singing “Rocky Top” all afternoon are things I will always remember.

Like many students, I changed my major several times before finding my place in Communication Studies, in the College of Communication and Information. I chose my major after exploring different career options, defining my interests, and looking at different program curriculums. In the end, I’m very satisfied with my decision. I’ve found a great college with excellent professors. Communications has not only allowed me to explore my interests, but also hone my skills as well. I know being an effective communicator will be extremely valuable in the job marketplace.

My favorite extracurricular activity thus far has been serving as an Orientation Leader (OL). I have been lucky enough to be able to be an OL for two years in a row now! Serving the university in this capacity has been a truly incredible experience. I have met so many amazing people, developed as a leader, and also as a person. I encourage all students to get involved on campus in some way. You will meet so many great people and make memories to last a lifetime!
