What is your most memorable UT experience so far?
- The Vanderbilt vs. UT football game in 2007 was one of my most memorable moments at UT. We had a significant lead throughout the game but in the second half Vanderbilt began to come back, threaten our lead and a trip to Atlanta for the SEC championship. It was a nail biter. We ended up winning 25-24 but only after a failed Vanderbilt field goal attempt, because it bounced off the goal post. The crowd erupted and the whole student section started jumping up in down. I almost left early because we had such a large lead but I am glad that I didn’t because singing “Rocky Top” in Neyland Stadium never felt so sweet.
How did you decide on your major?
- When I came to UT I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to major in and what I wanted to do with my life. How wrong I was… I have been at UT for five semesters and have had five different majors. Ultimately I decided upon my major by objectively looking at my strengths as a student and what classes I was passionate about. I realized the classes I looked forward to attending and ultimately did the best in were my Communication classes. I am also pursuing a Business minor which has given me practical knowledge for not only the business world but also life. I will be graduating one semester late because of my various college major pursuits but I feel I have became a more well-rounded student, learned more about campus resources such as Career Services and discovered what I am passionate about.
What is your favorite place on campus?
- I love Neyland Stadium on Saturdays in the Fall and the Pedestrian Walkway in the Spring, but my favorite place on campus is the third floor of the University Center (UC). The third floor of the UC is a hidden gem. There are computers, printers, and tables set up for students. It is generally quiet and a great place to study. Multiple student organizations and activities have offices on the third floor including: Student Government Association, Student Orientation and Leadership Development, and Dance Marathon; all organizations I am involved in. Being able to stay connected to these organizations while getting my school work done is amazing. Also I get to see my friends randomly throughout the day.
