What is the most important piece of advice you would give new students?
- The most important advice I would give to an incoming student is that college is a wonderful experience and opportunity but along with the experience and fun comes hard work. You are going to have to learn how to balance your social life around the school work because having too much fun on campus can lead to poor grades, maybe even failing some classes. So, knowing how to manage your time is important because time disappears fast during the week and before you realize what you should have done it will be too late.
What is your favorite extracurricular experience?
- My favorite extracurricular experience at UT has been going to the foot ball games. My favorite game was the first home game in 2008. I don't remember who we played, but the game was so much fun. I enjoyed the crowd. My friends and I were showing our Volunteer Spririt the whole game. My favorite part would have to be when the Pride of the Southland Band makes the "T" and the football team runs out onto the field and through it. It's amazing! I also love to see the real-life Smokey - he is so cute! The football games are always exciting and action-packed. Go UT!!!
What is your favorite place on campus?
- My favorite place on campus is the University Center. I enjoy going there for many reasons. The first reason is because I get to eat the wonderful, delicious pasta from Rocky Top Café. I really love that pasta; I can’t stress that enough. And after I eat the pasta, I love to take a nap. Another reason I like the University Center is because I get to see my friends as they pass through there. My friends and I are usually busy with school and work, so when I get to see them in the UC, we have a good time talking and laughing. The last reason is because of the computer lab upstairs. It is convenient for me to use my laptop to print off papers that I need. I love the University Center, mainly because that is where most people gather to eat lunch and socialize.
