How did you decide on your major?

  • It was rather hard for me to pick my major. I changed twice – from Pre-Pharmacy to Music Education then finally to Psychology, all of which are in the College of Arts & Sciences. It was a struggle for me to change from Music Education to Psychology because it has always been my passion and will always be my passion. It took me a year and a half to find what I wanted my future to be. I had become very involved on campus and realized that I loved working with students, specifically college age. So after talking to several people whom I considered mentors I decided upon Psychology as a major; as it would be most conducive in perusing the graduate program I desire to attend.

What is your favorite extracurricular experience?

  • Becoming a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (PMA) has definitely been my favorite experience while I’ve been at UT. Phi Mu Alpha is the National Men’s Music Fraternity with over 100 years of history and tradition, and this spring our chapter celebrated 50 years at UT! It has been such a great experience to share the sense of brotherhood with such a diverse group from guys who have majors ranging from engineering to philosophy to music. But the cool thing is that what brings us together is our love of music. I’ve done a lot of other fun stuff with PMA such as pairing up for All-sing with Sigma Alpha Iota, visiting National Headquarters, going on brotherhood retreats, performing in brotherhood recitals and much much more!

What is your favorite place on campus?

  • My favorite place on campus definitely has the Humanities Amphitheatre, located between Hodges Library and the Humanities & Social Sciences Building. I love to just sit out on the grass during the day or at night. When I lived in Hess Hall, my friends and I would just hang out, lie in the grass on the steps of the amphitheater, and talk for hours. Sitting on that grass I’ve had many a memorable conversation with friends and random people as well. It just has a really nice environment and it’s a great place to nap in between classes on a sunny day!
