What Does BGPSA Do and Why Should I Join?
"Black graduate students make up less than 4% of UT's student population."
The Black Graduate & Professional Student Association (“BGPSA”) is a student organization for black graduate and professional students, faculty, staff, and administrators at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (“UT”). The BGPSA is one of many student organizations supported by Minority Student Affairs and housed within the Black Cultural Center.
The BGPSA sponsors special events and workshops for graduate and professional students. For example, we host the annual Fall and Spring Mixer and professional development series workshops. We offer information on financial assistance, graduate assistantships, professional opportunities, and much more. In addition, the BGPSA host academic support programs and community service projects throughout the year.
Get involved, join the BGPSA! Become a member and network with fellow graduate and professional students, faculty, staff, and administrators at UT. As a member you can take advantage of our workshops and resources. Finally, by joining and supporting the BGPSA you allow us to continue to serve the black graduate student population here at UT, and advocate on their behalf.
