August:

Aug. 13-15 Minority Student Symposium
Aug. 26 Rites of Passage - University Center - Auditorium, 7:00 pm.
This program was originally organized as a social for the mentors and mentees. However, in recent years, it has been redesigned as a ceremony where students take a vow to stay committed to their academic goals and promise to become student leaders in the UT community. This year we had Mr. Ronald Harris, Chief Diversity Officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee as the keynote speaker.

Sept. 1-30: MAP Monthly Mentor/Mentee Meetings
Sept. 16: MAP Program Success Skills Workshop: Sexual Awareness - Black Cultural Center, 7:00 pm
The purpose of these events is to provide students with information on various topics to encourage positive and healthy decision making.

Sept. 30 MAP Spades Tournament - Black Cultural Center, 7:00 pm
The purpose of this program is to provide a social and competitive activity for students and encourage mentor/mentee interaction

October:

Oct. 1-31: MAP Monthly Mentor/Mentee Meetings
Oct. 21 MAP Success Skills Workshop: Internet Networking - Do's and Don'ts - Black Cultural Center, 7:00 pm
Oct. 25 MAP Community Service: Boo at the Zoo - See your MAP Mentor for more details)
MAP students dress up in costumes and pass out candy to the kids of Knoxville. There will be games and other activities for the kids to enjoy as well.

November:

Nov. 1-30: MAP Monthly Mentor/Mentee Meetings
Nov. 4 MAP Presents: The Mr. and Miss Freshman Pageant - University Center - Auditorium, 7:00 pm
This year is the first Mr. and Miss Freshman Scholarship Pageant. It is a program that will help promote healthy self-awareness and provide a book scholarship for the winners.

Nov. 18 MAP Success Skills Workshop: Business Dining Etiquette - Location: Stokely Hospitality Suite, 7:00 pm.

December:

Dec. 1-10: MAP Monthly Mentor/Mentee Meetings
Dec. 2 Pancake Breakfast/48-hour study session, - Black Cultural Center, 11:30 pm - 1:30 a.m.
This program is a fundraiser and a social activity for students studying during the 48-Hour Study Session at the Black Cultural Center
