I've finished my dissertation, defended it, and found a cool job, all in March! I will spend April catching my breath, but on May 12th I set sail for Golden, Colorado, and the National Renewable Energy Lab. Hooray!

Here is a brief summary of my academic life:

1993 - 1997 University of Wyoming

Trustees Superior Student Fellowship

B.S. in Physics with a minor in German

Extensive lab experience in optics

Honors Program graduate

1997 - 2006 University of Tennessee

Highest score in classical mechanics qualifying exam

Spent 3 years combining nonlinear optical techniques with ultrahigh vacuum (stopped due to equipment issues).

Ample experience (more than 1 year) in SEM, AFM, E-beam lithography, MBE, MOKE/MSHG, SQUID magnetometry, Labview-based data acquisition, and UHV system design.

Some experience in STM, PECVD, and laser MBE.
