Bonnaroo Guide ( June 10, 2006
)
Please call this fella immediately, but feel free to be discreet - Keller - Looking for sources traveling to Bonnaroo next week worried about running into police along the Interstates and roads. I’d especially like to talk to you if you were detained as you traveled to Bonnaroo in years past. I’m writing a Bonnaroo survival guide for our newspaper in Nashville. Surviving the police gauntlet is topic No. 1 on my list. I can use only first names if need be - Dean Hinton - Nashville Scene - 615-844-9445 - www.nashvillescene.com
Global Marijuana March ( May 6, 2006
)
The March went pretty well from the reports I got :-) I showed up 20 minutes late and missed our guys at Charlie Peppers. I also didn't see them on the corner as they were about a block away. Aside from that, around 7 showed up and held signs to hundreds of passers-byes that Saturday. All in all it was a good event, hopefully to be repeated.
Estimated at 25,000 pounds of marijuana, 22 pounds of cocaine and 50 pounds of methamphetamine, this is undoubtedly a large bust and many citizens will be arrested. But from the numbers, it is easy to tell what the catalyst for this large wholesale distributor is: Marijuana. This to me is outrageous! Marijuana is not addictive, not lethal, and a very popular thing to smoke during leisure time. Though it remains a felony, it is really the Tennessee law makers & John Walters who should be in jail. They have made wholesale distribution of Marijuana earn you more jail time than rape, manslaughter, or misleading the public. They love to spew their veil that criminalizing marijuana is protecting kids when actually the exact opposite is true. Kids find it easier to buy marijuana than alcohol. Does that make sense to you? It should. Adults consume marijuana in great quantities, much like alcohol. This leads to retail and wholesale distribution chains being setup to feed this need in society. Retailers then will sell marijuana to children to make more returns, as John Walters and gang have made them an outcast already by setting up overly harsh punishments for supplying adults with marijuana at a reasonable price.
John Walters and the TN state representatives are just as guilty as these men being arrested and should be sent to jail for twice the time for all the lives and families they have to scapegoat because of their weak-kneed, cowardice tactics to win elections. Think about 25,000 pounds of marijuana! Is that going to go away? No! The demand is there and the harm is not, other than the massive jail time. That is the real crime. Could this retail and wholesale distribution chain exist without its core product, Marijuana! No. They have 500 times more marijuana than any other drug. 25,000 pounds of marijuana gets your name into the door of 3 million people. Wake up! Criminalizing marijuana is the crime. 3 million people are breaking laws around the east Tennessee area but why don't officials arrest them all of them along with the wholesalers? Because the Tennessee lawmakers are full of baloney and do not believe what they will tell you, that marijuana smokers harm children and are bad for society. Most of these 3 million, otherwise law abiding citizens are being in contact with methamphetamine & cocaine retailers and wholesalers by virtue of necessity.
Cocaine and meth are extras, add-ons, the impulse buy. The demand for these drugs will greatly diminish with the regulation of marijuana, and every Republican and Democrat knows that. It is time to act. Give your Tennessee representatives a call. Tell them that you want to know their progress on regulating Marijuana and Medical Marijuana. Tell them that you are tired of giving meth & cocaine retailers’ access to 3 million Tennessee homes, and that you want to legalize and regulate Marijuana. Tell them that sending Medical Marijuana users to jail is hellacious and that you support the TN Medical Marijuana Act. Tell them that you know their cruel intentions and that you will not be voting for them in the future unless they get back in touch with the hard working Tennesseans, whom they are throwing in jail everyday due to sour politics and the criminalization of Marijuana.
Nevada campaign fundraiser and TN Medical Marijuana Bills ( February 01-April 30, 2006
)
Until the end of April we will be supporting both a time to act and a time to contribute. As you may know, a major piece of legislation is going to appear on the Nevada ballot in the coming months dealing with the regulation and control of Marijuana. We strongly support this voter initiative and have the goal of donating $500 to the campaigners by the end of April. That means 25 people need to contribute for us to reach our goal. As of 03/28/06 we have had 0 donors. Click our logo and make a contribution through paypal today or go directly to their website. Send me a quick note if you contribute directly through their website and I can get you a NORMLUTK membership card upon verification.
Secondly, it is time to get serious about supporting the TN Medical Marijuana Act, which may be coming up in July. I have created a list of the representatives whom have decision making power on the bill. Let's contact each one, share our opinion, and force them to take a stand! As you do, please email me their response in their own words and I will update their information so that we know who to vote for and who not to vote for in the future. I know it will be difficult, that is why I am asking your help. Please send your responses to makinglovetomaryjane@yahoo.com and I will update the list as soon as possible. Some of you already have and this is great!
Details are fuzzy at the moment and I promise to keep you posted as they come in. If you were the prey of this operation, contact me and we can hire a mutual lawyer. I don't know the details of the 92 cases and appreciate your updates. With these people facing serious jail time and the other bust 30 days prior, it's no telling.
Hopeful law enforcement prioritizes stopping violent crime, keeping the violent behind bars, protecting the cities and counties, and protecting children over arresting the casual marijuana smoker even though Tennessee politicians have not yet made small amounts of Marijuana (1 ounce to 1/2 ounce) anything but a felony conviction for recreational or Medical Marijuana use. Even worse, defendants unaccounted property becomes the sheriff's, used for undisclosed purposes. In Knox county, old Sheriff Hutchinson looks to sleaze confiscated money for another set of years. You can try to get your property back if you are innocent but he is notorious for spending over $100,000 on a tax payer funded lawyer to combat a $300 fine. Usually billboards manage to white wash the black sheep of Knoxville and if anyone dares oppose the alleged kingpin in Blue, please vote for him and a safer city. Also, be aware Hutchinson has had large busts just prior to elections in years past, which sources later revealed the defendants don't exist, the evidence doesn't exist, and the acting sergeant reprimanded by the court (then promoted to management). So is the case with the dope money dealer of our men in Blue. Some say drugs make you do funny things. Well, I say try money and power and you will be hooked for life.
Why is Marijuana out of drugstores or coffee shops and given to illegal commercial growers? Compared to what is Marijuana more dangerous…shaving cream? Alcohol prohibition lost favor in our near Utopian society long ago. Given that lawmakers and concerned citizens try to hide the pleasures that humans seek from society, then the criminalization of Marijuana seems natural. Yet Alcohol prohibition failed due to fears of violence, poisoning, and the corrupting of politicians through the booze trade. Pot has many similarities but sans the violence.
But did not the government teach you anything with their propaganda? They show babies drowning and a person near by getting high. They show kids laughing and old men getting run over. "So almost every way in which we measure the drug problem, the trends are going in the wrong direction…" states ONDCP Drug Czar John "Death Eater" Walters. Is propaganda his measuring stick or is he concerned that Marijuana regulation has not come fast enough? If you keep legal for recreation than you might have tried a beer or alcohol; the number one factor in young deaths, involved in half of all car crash deaths, and a quarter of all youth hospital visits. Marijuana on the other hand has few ills as compared to its substitute or prohibition. Probable bronchitis or lung disease and impaired driving are the extent of it. Marijuana is smoked far less often than cigarettes and drivers tend to slow down as compared to drunk drivers who get home, or other, quicker. Marijuana is not addictive, while Alcohol influences violent crimes more than any drug enjoyed by mankind. Legalizing Marijuana actually lessens consumption as Mary-J parties lessen and taxes are collected.
Even as compared to shaving cream Marijuana seems relatively harmless. Is not shaving cream a gateway to self-inflected cuts, five o’clock shadow, and razor burn? John Walters pictures a man covered in Afghan shaving cream as babies drown, doing nothing. Another rubs his red itchy skin and a grandpa dies. "So almost every way in which we measure the drug problem, the trends are going in the wrong direction…" sallies the Drug Czar, yet he ignores the Legalization of Cannabis in Denver, CO. John Walters is morbid and disturbing and going in the wrong direction. Marijuana really is safer than Alcohol and a growing number of Americans are beginning to see the safety and regulation that legalization can provide.
