Application to the M.M. concentration in Musicology involves several parts.

Apply online to the Graduate School at The University of Tennessee

Complete the application for the UT Graduate School (see link below). All supplemental parts of the Graduate School application, including fees, transcripts, GRE scores, and financial certification form, should be sent to: Office of Graduate Admissions, University of Tennessee, 218 Student Services Building, Knoxville, TN 37996-0220.

Please note that in order for your GRE exam results to reach us by the deadline, you must take the exam no later than the December test date (see the GRE website).

Complete the application for the School of Music (see link below). Request an interview time with the Musicology Faculty, preferably on one of the School of Music Audition Days. (NB: As an applicant to the M.M. in Musicology, you do not need to schedule a performance audition.) If needed, you can email Dr. Rachel Golden, rcarlson@utk.edu, for an interview time outside of the School of Music Audition Days.

Seek acceptance into the M.M. Concentration in Musicology

Email the Musicology Faculty about your interest in the program (Dr. Rachel Golden, rcarlson@utk.edu). When you visit campus for your interview, you'll meet with several of the Musicology faculty to discuss your background and musical interests, as well as aspects of our progam. If you visit during the week, you're welcome and encouraged to visit Musicology classes.
