The Advanced Psychoanalytic Theory and Technique seminar

This is not a course in the conventional sense, though it now has a formal course title and will appear on the students transcript.  It is an entirely elective undertaking.  Instead of one big course this is a collection of modest offerings which are informal, flexibly scheduled, and not wedded to the academic semester calendar.  It’s a Chinese menu approach.  We start out with 5 or 6 options; the student looks-over the menu and chooses two (or more) that he/she wants to take.  Though the course credit is emblazoned on the students transcript as a Spring course, the learning experiences can occur anytime during the year.  The big deal is that the learning experience is usually at a faculty home, very informal, and generally invigorating----intellectually and clinically.  In short, it is fun to do and it gets clinical students together with our most seasoned clinicians in the community and at the University.  Below are the offerings planned for this coming year and here is a pdf of the course description:Advanced Psychoanalytic Theory and Technique
