SLEEPING - Backpacking

If one's goal is to reconnect with nature, then her best option is to load her gear in a backpack and hike in to the wild and find a place to sleep. Of course, it can also be a pain in the rear. Until one gets used to the various gear needed and is used to it, then it can be a mental burden getting prepared. And at the very least, it's always a physical burden. That's why hardcore gearheads and experienced backpackers go to extremes to drop those extra few ounces here and there from their loads. That weight adds up after 10 to 15 miles on the trail.

But eventually one becomes comfortable enough with his gear so the mental burden disappears, and the mental rewards of backpacking come to the forefront.
