The Lab
The Language Resource Center has a small faculty development lab to train faculty in the use of technology in foreign language instruction as well as provide a space for faculty to develop course materials.
With expertise in foreign language instructional technologies and assistance close at hand, faculty can work on projects with the assurance that any "roadblocks" to their projects will be easily removed.
There are 3 Macintosh G5 machines (running OSX Panther) equipped with scanners and a variety of smart card readers as well as equipment for digitizing videos – everything necessary to develop your course materials for delivery directly in class or through the Blackboard Course Management System.
There is also a wide variety of software:

- Photoshop
- Dreamweaver
- Inspiration
- Final Cut Pro
- Audacity
There is also a DELL GX620 Desktop equipped with a scanner, webcam, and headset for GTAs, lecturers, and professors to use for the foreign languages purposes. This machine comes with a variety of software:

You can use those software to work with a variety of media. You can complete your projects knowing that all the pieces (hardware and software) have been put together enabling you to successfully complete your project.
Besides the LRC faculty development lab, MFLL faculty should be aware of other resources for developing course materials.
- Digital Media Service (DMS) can digitize audio, video and paper based materials as well as provide assistance in obtaining copyright permissions to digitize your materials.
- Media Center Studio provides a place for both faculty and students to work on multimedia projects.
- Innovative Technology Center (ITC) can provide student assistance to faculty in developing course materials through its START program.
