Foreign TV Broadcasts

Perhaps the very best resource available to students studying foreign languages are the foreign language television broadcasts available on VolVision. What better way to see a country and its people interact than through their television broadcasts?

The University of Tennessee is fortunate to have a cable system (VolVision) available to students in dorms, the library Media Center and at various locations on campus. The links below provide program guides and other information.

There is a wealth of foreign language broadcasts on the Internet. Broadband-television.com provides links to foreign language television programs in a variety of foreign langauges from a variety of foreign countries. The site also provides links to international newspapersa nd more TV and radio webcasts.

Channel 64: Deutsche Welle (Germany)

Channel 59: RAI International (Italy)

The international programming arm of Italy's state radio and television, RAI International provides news, sports and broadcasts from the three state television channels in addition to some programming produced exclusively for RAI International.

You can also watch RAI programming on the Internet (high-speed connection): archived are the latest news programs, weather, sports, variety shows and comedy programs.

Channel 58: TV5 France

lthough TV5 is organized and operated by the French state, it offers programming and news from a variety of francophone countries. There is a wealth of Internet video sources from the latest TV news to news on Africa, music videoclips and short documentaries on various countries and cities.
