Katrina C. Burns is a graduate student in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology. Her research focus is the entomopathogenic nematode, Steinernema carpocapsae. She is testing the compatibility of the nematode with bacteria that control soil borne plant pathogens, for use as a biological control agent. Prior to enrolling in the University of Tennessee Graduate School, Katrina earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee State University. Katrina is an active member of the Tennessee Entomological Society, Treasurer of the Black Graduate and Professional Student Organization, and Vice President of MANRRS.
