Episode Summary :
Part 1
"The Municipal Records Building is currently the location of a fascinating exhibit of English historical and mythological artifacts, the most interesting of which is King Arthur exhibit and most especially.... Merlin's Mirror. Once the prize possession of King Arthur's magician, it is now of extreme interest of someone of more notorious refute."
The Sorcerer, along with the lovely Miss Dazzle, appear on the scene at the exhibit and steal away Merlin's Mirror before a crowd of spectators. Meanwhile, across town at the home of Lori and Judy, the girls are inspecting one of the priceless pieces of artwork for Newsmaker Magazine when it disappears right before their very eyes. They immediately descend down to Electrabase to confer with Frank. Frank is already on the case as Crimescope determined a space-time continuum disturbance the same time the clock disappeared. The Sorcerer appears on the viewscreen with the missing clock and challenges the girl to figure out how he did it. He also tells them that his next trick will be to steal the Crown Jewels of England and challenges Electra Woman and Dyna Girl to stop him.
While the heroines race to the Municipal Records Building, back at his hideout, the Sorcerer disappears through Merlin's Mirror. As Electra Woman and Dyna Girl arrive at the exhibit and just before they can secure the crown jewels, the exhibit disappears before their eyes leaving our heroines perplexed. The Sorcerer leaves the girls a note stating that a trick like that deserves a "big hand". As Electra Woman and Dyna Girl try to decipher the meaning of the message, two big hands appear overhead and start clapping loudly, nearly deafening the girls. With the help of Frank, they locate the emitter used for the illusion and shut it off.
With the help of Frank, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl head towards the Sorcerer's hideout, which is hidden by an illusion in the middle of a giant field. When they reach the Sorcerer, he is finally ready to reveal the secret of how he has completed his robberies. He then goes through the mirror into another dimension, a dimension that allows him to travel through time.
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl give chase to the Sorcerer through the mirror, over the objections of Frank who says that not all the variables have been answered. Once inside the strange dimension, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl discover that their Electra-Comps do not work. Meanwhile, Crimescope reports to Frank that the girls have ceased to exist.
The Sorcerer manages to lose the girl inside the strange dimension and exits back through the mirror and close up the exit, leaving the heroines trapped!
"And so the Sorcerer is free once again to carry on his diabolical crimes, while Electra Woman and Dyna Girl remained trapped in the strange 4th dimension behind the fantastic mirror...doomed to remain in a world which Crimescope says does not exist!"
Part 2
Frank is desperately trying to locate our heroines, when the Sorcerer breaks in on the communication line. While gloating in his recent triumphs, he gives Frank a lot of "time" related metaphors. Afterwards, the Sorcerer heads back to the past to commit another robbery.
While traveling through the mysterious dimension in the mirror, the Sorcerer is followed by Electra Woman and Dyna Girl back to the studio of Leonardo da Vinci. The girls arrive as the Sorcerer makes off with the Mona Lisa. Meanwhile, in the present, Frank receives notice that the Mona Lisa has vanished. Putting it all together, Frank deduces that the Sorcerer is traveling through time, and perhaps the girls are back in time as well. Frank focuses all of Crimescopes powers to contact the girls in the past.
Meanwhile, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl are attempting to talk to Leonardo da Vinci when Frank's communication burst through the time barrier. Our heroines are just about to leave the past to give chase to the Sorcerer when Frank is able to lock Crimescope's time circuits on the girls. The will give them power from Crimescope while they are in the mirror dimension.
In the strange dimension, the heroines catch up to the Sorcerer and are able to use the new power to retrieve the Mona Lisa. The Sorcerer retreats back to the present and attempts to thwart the girls exit from the strange world. He is unsuccessful and is forced to break the mirror, trapping Electra Woman and Dyna Girl in the mirror dimension forever.
However, there is one last chance. Frank attempts to use Crimescope to break through the barrier. It is risky and could destroy the dimension forever. The girls brace for the outcome and Frank is successful in returning our heroines back to the present.
Back at the Sorcerer's hideout, the villain is busy celebrating his apparent victory of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. However, that victory is short lived as they appear and capture Miss Dazzle and in their effort to capture the Sorcerer, send him into the mirror dimension.
DynaGirl's Thoughts:
Alot of people knock this episode as one of the weakest.. But it's not.. and here's why.. Context. This show flexed its muscle for the series and went out on a limb. and defined one of the physical properties in the EW/DG universe. How time works. This was ambitious for a Saturday morning kids show in the late 70's. (If you don't think so.. look at how complex a big foot and wild boy plot is) Through the course of the show the heroines are trapped in the dimension of Time itself. laying that out..in the time they did..was a good stroke of the pen. Also of note.. Most of the things we have seen up until now in the series have been normal people with gadgets.. even those who seemed magical were in fact.. technological in nature. But here we have the bonna-fide Merlins Magic Mirror. So all and all its not really that weak.. just a different stride for the writers. "Electra ambitious".
