How to run JMP scripts. 1

Scripts

o   Bootstrap confidence intervals the mean and difference of means

o   Bootstrap confidence intervals for percentiles. This script starts with the following
code:

Samples = 200;

SampleRate = .2;

big = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA\Big Class.jmp" );

To run this script for one’s JMP data table, say, sample.jmp one must substitute
this data table name and its location path for
"$SAMPLE_DATA\Big Class.jmp"

One can change the number of bootstrap samples by changing “200” above
to whatever number of bootstrap samples one may want. Similarly, one
can change the sampling rate by changing “
.2” to whatever rate one wants.

o   Bootstrap of Weibull parameters.  This script starts with the following
code:

dt = Open( "$Sample_Data/Reliability/Fan.jmp" );

nSample = 200;  // number of bootstrap samples

To run this script for one’s JMP data table, say, sample.jmp one must substitute
this data table name and its location path for
"$Sample_Data/Reliability/Fan.jmp"

One can change the number of bootstrap samples by changing “200” above
to whatever number of bootstrap samples one may want.

How to run JMP scripts

Open first the appropriate JMP data table.

For example, for the first script above it would be a JMP data table with one or two columns depending on weather one wants a confidence interval for the mean or for the difference of two means.

To run one of the scripts above go to JMP’s  File menu, then to New and then to Script.
This will open an empty script. Paste the script code available in the script links above into it.
Save the script. To run it one just clicks on the running person icon that has been highlighted in yellow below.
