We use the fiber example in Chapter 3 of the textbook. In particular we do Example 3-3 on Page 79.

The diamond are the confidence intervals for the treatment means based on Formula 3-12 on Page 78 of your textbook. You can get exact numbers for these confidence intervals by noting that these formula can be written as:

Thus the confidence interval for the mean of 15% cotton is:

9.8 - (2.086)(1.2696) to 9.8 + (2.086)(1.2696)
