38. None. Just continue to teach and continue to do these surveys because they help you to learn what the students like and it makes your class a better class to take.

40. Keep It Simple. Stop making the class harder than it really is. Your attempts to better the class are noble. Your teaching needs to be worked on. This is an intro level course, if I wanted to take a hard stats class then I would take upper level courses. If the material were difficult I would understand, but this stuff wasn't that hard. I, like most students in this class, lost motivation. You made it to where I no longer cared about the class because I hated it so much.

46. Good class! I’ve enjoyed learning the principles and being introduced to statistics.

47. In the PowerPoints you give problem examples but you never write down the solutions or the steps to answer, you simply just ask the question. And when you go to the recording you can't see the solutions because you can't see what you wrote down in class. That's the only reason I am ever confused.

48. You should just make things clearer and move faster in the lectures in order to keep up with the material covered in CourseCompass each night.

49. This last exam was very hard. It took a great deal of concentration. I was upset that the last two weeks Dr. Leon has interrupted the exam. Two weeks ago he put a mask on during the exam. Last week he was playing music and just talking out loud. If that was the hardest exam of the semester you would think that exam needed the most courtesy.

54. I think it would be a good idea to be able to drop one of the tests because there are so many. One bad week can completely change the grade you should get. Overall I thought the class was ran very well.

57. Instead of using so many different outlets (Ning, Google group, etc) just pick one. Students don't like having so many different things to keep up with.

59. Phil was a great TA. He was very understanding and helpful. If all my courses had TA's like Phil my college career would have been a lot easier.

60. Just so you know, as far as mixing up the exam times, a lot of professor do that to make us come to class. As students, we are used to it. :)

61. Whether your class is full or empty teach to the people that show up. Don't worry about the ones that don't come to class. Cater to the immediate audience you have in front of you.

I really like that you have tried to give the students as many resources as they could possibly want but in doing so you took away from some of the essential parts of any course, such as a student/teacher relationship, questions about homework and material, class participation, real-world applications where students are responsible for collecting data and then analyzing it. For next year, I really hope you make class participation part of your grade and try to give the students more opportunities to get involved in the course.
