Suppose that 250 items are inspected on each of twenty days
and the number of defective items out of the 250 are recorded.
The JMP data table below contains the twenty daily number of defective
items found.
To calculate the p-chart for these data, go to the Graph menu and select Control Chart:
Fill the resulting dialog box as follows. Notice that we selected P from the downward arrow menu under Chart Type. Also notice that the sample size of 250 was entered in the Constant Size text box.
Click OK:
