We will duplicate Figure 2.1 on Page 89.
Download and open the following JMP file:
Select the Date column, go to the Cols menu,
and select Label/Unlabel:
(Notice the yellow label next to the Date column.)
(This step above is optional, but it will make it easier to examine the scatter plot later.)
Go to the Analyze menu and select Fit Y by X:
Fill the resulting dialog box as follows:
Click OK:
Now move the tip of your arrow tool over any point on the scatter
plot above.
You will see the date of the point since the Date column
was assigned the "label" role above.
