Download and open the following JMP file:

• Table10.1

Add another row to the table with the value of LOS, i.e. 125, that you want to make the prediction for - and calculate the confidence interval and prediction interval for the regression response.

Go to the Analyze menu and select Fit Model:

Complete the resulting dialog box as follows:

Click on the Run Model box:

Click on the red down arrow and select

• Predicted Values
• Mean Confidence Interval (JMP's name for what the textbook calls a Confidence Interval for regression response)
• Indiv Confidence Interval (JMP's name for what the textbook call a Prediction Interval for regression response)

This action adds five columns to the JMP data table:
